Happy Memorial Day!

Trixie went camping with us to a KOA, or kampground of America. (Let me just say, I HATE it when people purposefully misspell words. Kars for kids?! Are these retarded kids or something?!) Sorry, off topic.
Anyway, Trixie loves camping. Being outdoors everyday and smelling the woods and new animals was exciting for her. She loved sitting by the camp fire and playing tether ball. YES, I do have a video of Trixie playing tetherball....and she wins!
We brought her exercise pen so she could hang out outside without being on leash, which is also loved. We didn't know this till now, but Trixie goes nuts for miniature golf. In fact, I think some of our scores would've been different had Trixie not been there....meaning she picked up my ball numerous times and we'd have to try and remember where it was....(Thanks Trixie, you helped me!)

We brought her travel crate to sleep in the tent and she loved that as well. We'd definitely go camping with her again.

Unleash date

Trixie went to Unleash again today because we were too busy to play all day!Look at them crazy eyes! I've never seen her look like this before!
Aww, a puppy hug! It's nice to see Trixie as the victim dog. She's always the aggressive one, so it's nice that she doesn't have her teeth bared in every shot.
I spoke too soon. Look how she's barely on the ground! What a crazy pup!
And the workers at Unleash said that she went absolutely NUTS over this ball, chasing it, trying to eat it, barking at it even. Guess we really DO need to get her a soccer ball soon!

What a difference!

On September 13, 2010, we received a little white bundle of joy. She was scared to leave home, but had no choice. She was a shy and sometimes scared dog....she was 4 lbs 8 oz.
Trixie is now 10 months old. We've had her for 8 months. She is now 16 lbs. She is now extremely attached to us. She is feisty and plays with lots of dogs now.

(George is wearing the same exact outfit from 8 months earlier.)

A visit to Deerhaven

Today we went back to Trixie's breeders' house, Deerhaven Westies, so she could see a pack of westies, play, and so Jane and George could see how naughty Trixie has become. Trixie had a blast playing with Ellie, Elsie, and especially, Mimi. We were tempted to adopt Mimi right on the spot. It didn't help that she had these beautiful "adopt me" eyes.

They had a litter of 12 week old puppies. Here they are, keeping warm.
And here the darlings are again. How sweet they are! Trixie was this big at 8 weeks. She's actually pretty big for a westie, but Jane and George confirmed that she is not over weight or fat. Rather, she is all muscle and a strong dog.Jane and George also wanted to fix our little baby up with a groom. So they snipped her tail fur to give it that "upside down carrot" look and tipped her ears to give her a much more WESTIE look to her. They also fixed up her face fur, though, it will need to grow out since it's too short right now.
Here's her new tail and ears! (and her tongue!)

Just hanging out

on the astro turf. Trixie loves her lawn. Aaron does too, being able to lay down and not get muddy. But somehow, Trixie manages to find ways of getting dirty!

Trixie's newest trick

Aaron has been training Trixie ever since we got her. We've been wanting her to do a "stick em' up" and "BANG!" trick, but we've never been able to get her to do it in sequence/on video....UNTIL NOW! Here it is!

It's the old west over here in Brooklyn!

Aaron loves these shots

from when Henry stayed with us.
Here's the pups using tricks or manners to get treats! Trixie is 'sitting pretty' and Henry is sitting. What great friends.
And Henry looks so angelic here. I know that it's a little over exposed....boo!

A Day at the Park with Henry

Henry's a good boy. His life is about to change. His owners are the new parents of a healthy bay boy. A couple of days ago when he came to our house, Trixie was the one adjusting to something new. In a couple days more, Henry will have to make the same adjustments. Good luck, Henry. Henry is a really nice brother, or guard dog. Look how he's protecting Trixie.

Back home and hosting

We finally feel readjusted from our week long trip to Europe. We went to Unleash and picked up Trixie.

But we weren't alone. The very next day, we picked up Henry, Michael and Melinda's dog. They needed us to take care of him for a bit and thought he might enjoy staying in a house with people and another dog. Trixie and Henry have gotten along before, but they've never spent the night together.
And this is the product of two dogs living together! Crazy crazy playing and wrestling. Aaron actually said that two dogs are easier than one. It's true. For one, you don't feel guilty for not playing with them. Why? Because they have a sibling to play with. They're learning to share, although, for a while, there was a little jealousy going on between the two of them. Sometimes, Henry would block Trixie from even getting to us, as if to say that we were HIS humans....um, Henry? No! And I love the little doggie smile that Trixie has in this shot. Really, these two are great for each other. They play rough, but they give each other space.

Too Pooped!

Henry has made Trixie SO tired that she fell asleep on the bathroom floor while Aaron was pooing. That's love!
